Residence within the city web
Location: Volos, Greece
Project year: 2005-2009
The construction of a modern dwelling ensured coexistence within the urban fabric, as other buildings were primarily contemporary apartment blocks. The house is located on a corner plot in the centre of Volos and evolves over three levels occupying the western part of the site. The privileged view of The Catholic Church was the determining factor in orienting the facade slightly towards Gamveta Street.
The minimalist design permeates the building forming stunning interior spaces and highlighting the new stylistic theme of the outer shell.
This jewel of a building has its precious stone set upon its highest point, a curved metal roof coated with copper and connected to the base of the building with a binder of patinaed titanium zinc.
