Α “healthy home” by natural build
Location: Agria, Magnesia, Greece
Project year: 2014-2016
It is a two storey natural build house, which consists of a ground floor of 85 sqm and 40 sqm mezzanine, in the “Vamvakia” position in Agria of Volos. The building’s basic synthetic principles are similar to the traditional standards in morphological level. The building is adapted to the low slope of the ground, giving two bedrooms and the kitchen – dining room with auxiliary spaces in the ground floor . Upstairs is placed the “winter living room” where the “summer living room” is in outside space, overviewing the Pagasitikos gulf. The main body of the structure consists exclusively of wooden frames, “Larsen Truss” type, filled with a mixture of straw and clay thus forming a harmonious whole. Our main goal is to have a “healthy home” with breathing load-bearing walls, natural building materials, wind ventilation and no voc’s which follows the principles of bioclimatic architecture.
